Shaman King

Shaman King is the story of Asakura Yoh, a shaman, who is aiming to become the Shaman King. However, to achieve his goal, he must participate in the Shaman Fight, a tournament held once every 500 years, where many other Shamans battle for the very same title. There anime spans 64 episodes and four short specials, while the manga spans 32 volumes, although there have been rumours about a 33rd volume.

Kyouyama Anna

Anna's first appearance in the anime is episode 5, or volume 2, chapter 9 in the manga. She introduces herself as Anna the itako, and also Yoh's fiancee. Anna can summon any spirit from anywhere and anytime, even if they've passed on. She's also pretty fierce and strong physically, and is feared for her infamous "legendary left" hand slap among the other characters.
